Happy St. Patty’s Day from Florence! Many abroad students booked their weekend flights and Air BnBs to Dublin as soon as they knew they were studying abroad. Most of us freshmen are here though, prepping for midterms and celebrating this Irish holiday in our city that is temporarily home. This morning included an Honors Program meeting with the director of the program, Dr. Snyder. Turns out he went to La Salle in Troy!
I spent a majority of the day studying for my fashion & COM midterms that are on Monday. I also managed to squeeze in a good workout before Dr. Snyder treated a few of us to dinner at Neromo. He gave us the scoop about Marist, and we got to know each other on a more personal level. It was fun, and the food was good! I devoured a plate of spaghetti with seafood.
Steven and I kept each other on our toes throughout dinner.
The bars and pubs in Florence were busy all day and festively decorated. We popped into a few of them after dinner, and Sasha and I tried green beer! Surprised the two of us weren’t in bed at 10 (we’re known as the ‘grandmas’ of the program).
It was a productive, fun, and safe St. Patrick’s Day! I did miss corned beef & cabbage this year, but there’s always next year. xo ~ e.
