Getting back into the groove of classes has been a bit of a challenge! It’s so funny going from seven weeks of vacation to full blown college classes. Regardless, it feels good to be back in a routine and hittin’ the books. It’s always a bit stressful getting syllabi and buying books, but it’s easier for us FFEs after going through this once already!
I had my Holocaust class this morning, and it was really interesting. I’ve always wanted to take a class that specifically focuses on such an important and devastating time in history. I’m so glad I have the opportunity to in Florence!
This evening we had a Marist aperitivo at the hotel across from the Marist building. We took full advantage of the buffet! There are surprisingly only 66 Marist study abroad students this semester. In the fall, there were over 100! With that said, there are noticeably a lot more study abroad students in total in Florence this semester. They hail from universities all over the United States and the world. It’s nice to have a campus vibe, but it also feels like Florence has become more American. It’s a conflicting feeling! They’ll all learn the ropes though, and we will do our best to help them. Looking forward to the first weekend in Flo! xo ~ e.
